Faces of Fearless – Kristine Story
Race Omaha is proud of our athlete Kristine Story for overcoming obstacles, taking on new challenges and embracing life to its fullest. Watch her inspiring story above.
Kristine Story couldn’t even swim one length of the swimming pool when she began training for her first triathlon six years ago. Kristine decided to train for the Omaha Women’s Triathlon in 2010 when she was 51 even though she wasn’t much of a swimmer or runner.
After doing well at her first triathlon, Kristine “caught the bug” and wanted to compete in more races, get better and push herself to see what she could accomplish. She went on to compete in several triathlons including the half Ironman in Racine, Wisconsin, the full Ironman race in Arizona and Kailua-Kona, Hawaii for the Ironman World Championships.
Faces of Fearless is a storytelling series in Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska “Live Fearless” campaign celebrating people living their very best lives and inspiring others to do the same.
